Italy is investigating Apple for failing to disclosure 1.3 billion to the Italian authorities informed the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
A spokesman for the tax in Italy has confirmed the information, but did not reveal details, because according to him, the case is confidential.
Even Apple’s representative in Italy has not commented on the payment of this amount.
La Repubblica has announced that payment will be made after several months of negotiations on the avoidance of taxation for the period 2008-2013.
Apple Italia is headquartered in Ireland, one of the countries with the lowest rate of tax in the European Union.
